This indenture made and entered into on This the 3rd day of May 1875 between
G.W. Mawk of the one part and J.T.
Deweese of the other part, both of the County of Barren and
State of Kentucky: Wittnesseth that the said G.W. Mawk for and
in consideration of the sum of Five hundred and seventy six dollars to him in
hand paid the reciept of which is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold
and doth by these presents Convey unto the said J.T. Deweese
the following tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County and state
aforesaid on the waters of Barren fork, it being the same land Conveyed by
Martha Pedigo to the said G.W. Mawk and
B.F. Mawk on the 22nd Octo. 1866 by deed Recorded in the County
Court Clerks office of said County in Book No. 4 page 318, and subsequently the
said B.F. Mawk Conveyed his interest to the said G.W.
Mawk. Said land is bounded as follows. Beginning at a white oak and
poplar satump Scotts old corner near the School house; Thence
N. 50 poles to a pin Oak on a point above a spring; Thence North 66 1/2 E 106
poles to a stone; Thence S. 92 poles to a stone; Thence W. 102 poles to the
beginning Containing 42 1/2 acres; be the same more or less, to have and to hold
unto the said J.T. Deweese his heirs or assigns forever; and
the said G.W. Mawk hereby binds himself with Covenants of
general warrenty to forever warrent and defend the title to the foregoing
described tract of land unto the said J.T. Deweese his heirs or
assigns against lawful claim and all persons.
In witness whereof the said G.W. Mawk hath hereto set his hand
the day and date first herein written.

State of Kentucky Barren County I G.T. Duff clerk of the
county Court for said County certify that the foregoing deed from G.W.
Mawk to J.T. Deweese was on the 3rd day of May 1875
acknowledged before John Dillon, an acting Deputy for
J.P. Nuckolds, then Clerk of the County by G.W.
Mawk to be his deed and on the day filed for record. Where upon the
Same and this Certificate have been recorded. Given under my hand this 3rd day
of June 1876
