This Indenture made and entered into by and between Miss Lizzie Arnett
of the first part George C. McCoy & his wife
Mattie T. McCoy & also John McCoy and they
are to be equal in this land parties of the second part County of Barren and
State of Ky. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of #100oo One
Hundred Dollars cash in hand paid the receipt of which hereby acknowledged, the
parties of the first part have bargained and sold and by this deed do bargain,
sell and convey unto the 2 party his heirs and assigns forever the following
described tract or parcel of land: Begining on a black oak stump and hickory
Swanagan's corner then E. 76 poles to a chestnut & dogwood, then S. 50 poles
to some small dogwoods near a burnt tree, then West 86 poles to some dogwood
marked with a knife in Nichols line, then N. 10 E. 50 poles to the begining,
containing 25 acres, this being the same land that was deeded to Geo. W.
Mauk and S. C. Carter the object of this deed is to
convey to the second party herein the one-half of this tract of land, the othr
one half interest now belongs to Sam Broady parties of the first part ----? and
relinquish all right, title & interest they have & may have & dower
on homestead excemption. This the 12 day of July 1899. Lizzie Arnett
State of Kentucky Barren County. Sct.
I N. S. Terry, clerk of the Barren County Court certify that
the forgoing deed to Geo. McCoy &e was on the 13th day of
July 1899 acknowledged by Lizzie Arnett to be her act and deed
before D. W. Peers, an acting deputy clerk for me as appears
from his an dorsement thereon as follows: "Acknowledged to before me this the 13
day of July 1899 by Lizzie Arnett to be her act and deed
N. S. Terry Clerk of Barren Co. Ky. By Dee W.
Peers DC." And was on this day filed in my office, duly stamped, ---?
---?, and the same and this certificate have been recorded in my said office.
