Each year twoTax Books were made by a Commissioner. Here is Part 1 for 1850.

Please send me any correction in spelling of names. By in large, the Tax records are easily read, but sometimes names are not clearly written or the ink is somewhat blurred or faded. Thanks.

The following appears at the end of the tax entries::

"I J. Corbett Clerk of the Ballard County Court in the State of Kentucky that the Foregoing is a true and correct list of the Commissioner's Book containing the list of Taxible Properties North of Mayfield Creek for the Year 1850 as fully as remains now on file in my office.
