1848 Tax List Part 1
Each year twoTax Books were made by a Commissioner. Here is Part 1 for 1848.

Please send me any correction in spelling of names. By in large, the Tax records are easily read, but sometimes names are not clearly written or the ink is somewhat blurred or faded. Thanks.

The following appears at the end of the 1848 Tax List, Part I:

"I J. Corbett Clerk of the Ballard County Court
in the State of Kentucky Do Certify that the Foregoing is a true
And correct copy of the Commissioners Book Containing
The list of Taxable property in said County South of
Mayfield Creek qualified as voters and as taken in and
_thioned into Court by Richard T. Milburn for the Year
1848 as fully as is now ledged in my office
Given under my hand this 18th Day of June 1848
