Record Loss and Where to Research

Most county records (deeds, wills, and marriages) were destroyed when the courthouse burned on 17 May 1882. Many Circuit Court order books survived, were microfilmed, and are available through the Kentucky State Archives.

Local research materials are also available at the Simpson County Archives, 206 North College St, Franklin, KY.
